3d modelling

There is a rapidly increasing demand for 3D models in many areas of business. Buildings, cars, people and products are being modelled.. Three-dimensional models offer a high level of interactivity and realism, which makes them indispensible for architects and interior designers. They can also be used in advertising and even construction.

A three-dimensional model can be made by scanning the item directly, using a photograph or a two-dimensional drawing or sketch.

DEVELOPING A 3D FILE USING A SKETCH, AND BUILDING AN SLS MODEL

In many cases, our clients require a three-dimensional model to work out a solution to an engineering problem. A 3D file can be created of a part being designed using nothing but the engineer’s drawings.

Based on this file a solid three-dimensional model is built out of a polyamide-based composite material using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology.

DEVELOPMENT OF A 3D FILE USING A SAMPLE AND CONSTRUCTION OF AN SLS MODEL

One of our clients brought in a casework sample (in this case a lamp) for us to make a mold for the manufacture of lamp casings. Our specialists scanned the surface of the lamp casing, which created an .STL file, which we then used to build the model using SLS technology.
